It is no secret that rap artist 2Chainz is an avid sports fan. So he was obviously frustrated when he realized he could no longer access ESPN as part of his YouTube TV subscription.
2 Chainz Blasts YouTube TV For Removing ESPN From Platform
That rap artist took to social media to express his displeasure. And take the temperature of fellow YouTube TV subscribers who also need access to the channel.
“Man, what are we doing? I need to know what’s going on,” he said in a recent Instagram reel. “Obviously, I’m sure people who are avid ESPN watchers understand that Disney cancelled something, I guess with YouTube TV. So what are we doing? Are they still negotiating? Do I need to cancel my YouTube TV? Download the app? Or do I need to go to Amazon? Because I can’t function without that. I can’t function without that. What are we doing about this, ESPN?”
Fans in the comments section also expressed their displeasure about the Tug of War between the two entities.
“ESPN just wants to double-dip. Get the YouTube money while driving up their ESPN+ subscription. It’s gotten too hard and expensive to watch anything these days,” one user wrote in the comments section.
“Lol, I just had a mini crash out yesterday morning about this 😂😂 bc seriously WTF WE DOING !!!! Ahhhhhh,” another user added.
“I had to upgrade Hulu with the live channels. This is ridiculous! I refuse to go back to cable or satellite, but that may be better these days with all the horrible changes!!” a third user said.
To bring things up to speed, YouTube TV and Disney are in a dispute over programming costs. YouTube TV and Disney failed to reach a new agreement on fee increases before their contract expired. Because Disney is the parent company of networks such as ESPN and ABC, those channels have been removed from the streaming platform.
