Ebro In The Morning, a hip-hop-based morning program that aired on New York City’s Hot 97, had become a staple in the culture. The morning program, named after Ebro Darden, featured co-hosts Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez and had been airing since 2012.
‘Ebro in The Morning’ Nixed From Hot 97
However, social media posts from two of the co-hosts signaled the end of an era. On Friday (December 12), Ebro and Rosenberg took to social media to confirm that the show had officially aired its last broadcast.
“It’s done. More to come. #EbroInTheMorning,” Ebro wrote on social media.
“I lived out a childhood dream, and it was amazing. Very excited for what’s next #ebrointhemorning #reallate,” Rosenberg added.

However, in a separate social media post, Rosenberg had a more optimistic tone. Telling fans that “change is good” despite the show ending.
“I told you guys for a long time, change is afoot. Change can be beautiful. There are some changes on the horizon. Stay tuned,” he said in the video.
Users on social media were both shocked and confused by the announcement.
“What is done??? What are you talking about? You’re making us panic out here!” one listener wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Stop playing. Just a few weeks ago, you said ratings are GREAT!” a second user chimed in.
“Damn. I religiously listened to the show and then again on the pod. I’m hoping it’s just a simple name change with all the same people,” another user added.
It remains unclear why the morning show was nixed from the radio station. But earlier this year, Ebro had expressed his disdain with Hot 97’s new ownership group. He accused them of not caring about investing in staples to the program, such as their show and DJ Enuff’s time slot.
It will be interesting to see what comes next for the trio.
