After pleading guilty to gun possession charges last August, rap star Lil Boosie was facing up to 15 years in prison. As possessing a firearm as a convicted felon is against the law.
Boosie Vows to “Push The Gas” After Avoiding Prison Time
Boosie learned his fate on Friday (January 9). And thankfully, he will not have to spend any time behind bars. Instead, he was sentenced to time served. He also received a $50,000 fine and will have to complete 300 hours of community service as part of his plea deal.
Following the decision, the rap star took to social media to express his gratitude after avoiding prison time. He also vowed to “push the gas” this year, as the pending decision has hindered a lot of the projects that he has been working on.
“Aye, I’m blessed not to be in prison right now. I’m finna push the gas now,” Boosie said in a video posted to his social media account (via MyMixtapez). “I got three films, I got plenty of albums coming. It’s just this situation had me, I had a lot of s**t I couldn’t pursue the way I wanted to pursue, but I’m finna push the gas man. I can do shows again, I ain’t done shows in a couple of months. So I’m finna push the gas for all my Boosie fans, all 2026 we finna push the gas.”

However, despite being a free man, there are still some lingering hindrances. He still cannot perform overseas as part of his plea. But the rapper says that he is hoping to receive a pardon, to have that rectified.
“They still are not letting me go across seas and s**t. Everybody begging for me to come across seas, but ima have to wait on a pardon for that. I’m just grateful right now, I’m grateful. I’m praying for a pardon now, but I’m just grateful, God is good, bruh,” Boosie concluded.
