Jeannie Mai is opening up about the emotional toll of her highly publicized divorce from Jeezy, describing the experience as “experiencing death alive.”
The television host shared her reflections during an appearance on iHeartRadio’s Question Everything, where she spoke candidly about the inhumane mental and emotional weight of their contentious 2023 split. The divorce involved serious abuse allegations made by Jeannie Mai, which were denied by Jeezy, as well as intense legal battles surrounding the custody and safety of their daughter, Monaco — including concerns over unsecured firearms.
While the couple ultimately reached a settlement in June 2024 that granted joint custody and established support terms, Mai acknowledged that tensions lingered into 2025. Despite the prolonged conflict, she emphasized that her primary focus has always been protecting her daughter’s peace and well-being.
Mai also made it clear that she holds no regrets about the marriage itself. Instead, she expressed gratitude for the love she experienced and the personal growth that came with it, noting that she still believes in love and hopes to experience a healthy version of it in the future.
Above all, Mai said her priority remains creating a safe, peaceful, and loving environment for her young daughter as she moves forward into the next chapter of her life.
After Jeannie Mai and Jeezy finalized their divorce, ‘The Real’ alum detailed her experience amid their legal proceedings: "It's one of the greatest pains that any human has to endure." https://t.co/4fEDEIaLak pic.twitter.com/PdJTHQvhOa
