The biggest stars in the music industry gathered under one roof for the 68th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 1). However, one of the industry’s biggest stars was not in attendance — Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj Targets Jay-Z in Social Media Rant
It remains unclear whether Minaj received an invitation to the event. But she made her presence known on social media. I am targeting rap mogul Jay-Z in a series of scathing posts.
Nicki Minaj accused the Roc Nation Founder of being a “child predator.” Posting a photo of the rap star hugging up with the late R&B sensation Aaliyah. When she was allegedly only 16 years old, and he was 26 years old. In another side-by-side picture, a similar photo is displayed with him and Beyoncé, when she was also a teenager.
“Imagine if a 30-year-old rapper was out here with a 16-year-old in this day & age — and how y’all would have his head on a platter. The guy was hugging & humping on teens in broad daylight,” The Starships creator wrote in another social media post on Sunday Night.

Minaj has made her beef with Jay-Z public since last year. After he selected Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. She took issue with his selection, especially because the big game was being hosted in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she wrote on social media in September 2024. “So your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! NOLA, what’s good?!!!!!!”
Since then, Minaj has gone on several rants in which she accused HOV and Roc Nation President, Desiree Perez, of trying to censor her and even plotting a conspiracy against her. However, despite several attacks from the Pink Friday creator, Jay-Z has yet to issue a response.
