Kiki Shepard, beloved TV personality and longtime co-host of Showtime at the Apollo, has passed away at 74.
According to reports, Shepard died unexpectedly after suffering a massive heart attack on Monday (March 16) in Los Angeles.
Best known for her iconic run on Showtime at the Apollo from 1987 to 2002, Shepard helped introduce countless rising stars while sharing the stage with Steve Harvey for several years.
Born in Tyler, Texas, she began her career as a dancer before transitioning into acting, with roles in shows like Baywatch, A Different World, and NYPD Blue. She also made appearances on Everybody Hates Chris and Grey’s Anatomy, and even had an early role in The Wiz.
Following news of her passing, tributes poured in across social media, celebrating her legacy as a cultural staple and a champion for Black entertainment.
