Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn and other rappers helped bring a hard edge to boom bap street rap in the late 2010s. But with members working on side projects and other pursuits, rumors of the group’s demise have been swirling around. Amid the whispers, Benny The Butcher addressed the status of Griselda on the Still 400 podcast.
Is Griselda Over?
Benny spoke to host and legendary DJ Mannie Fresh on the future of Griselda.
“We definitely got plans on doing another album,” Benny said. “We never been a (real) group, but we always made music and did albums together. Everybody doing their own thing now, but I feel it’s past overdue that we do an album.”
This comes after rumors stemming from a Conway The Machine concert incident fueled speculation over friction between the founding trio.
During the show, Conway tossed a Griselda photo off the stage before saying, “Alright, now we ready,” leaving fans stunned at the act.
There was also a heavily rumored incident at a Paris fashion show in 2025 where tensions with the group led to Benny and Conway coming face to face.
Benny has since downplayed those rumors, calling the group “family.”
What Has Griselda Been Up To?
It’s important to note Conway The Machine left Griselda in 2022 to found his own label Drumwork Music Group, though he reportedly maintains a close friendship with the members. Conway is on tour supporting his newest album You Can’t Kill God With Bullets.
Westside Gunn also announced his new album Flygod Is An Awesome God 3. The album is speculated to be his final one, though those reports are unconfirmed.
