It’s been nearly two years since Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud took the rap industry by storm. But the impacts are still being felt today. Especially after many of Drake’s industry peers appeared to side with Kendrick. And Boosie feels a way about those same peers.
Boosie Blasts The People Who Switched Up on Drake
In an interview with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, Boosie said he is not a fan of the way that many of Drake’s peers “left him out to hang.” Especially because he helped a lot of those same people’s careers.
“I don’t like how all these artists left this man to hang,” he said in a clip caught by J O $ H U A on X (formerly Twitter). “Since I’ve been home, I watched this man boost people’s careers, but I didn’t have to do it. For everybody to just look the other way… This n***a put money in a lot of people’s pockets… If I were that n***a, I would be hurt. The joke’s on him if he goes back to them n***as… He is back number one. Everywhere I go, I’m still hearing f***ing Drake.”
Drake is set to drop his ninth studio album, Iceman, later this year. It will be his first solo project since his feud with Kendrick went viral. When asked if he believed Drake could regain his momentum with the upcoming drop, Boosie expressed his faith in the Grammy-winner. Because he believes that “music is dynamic.”
“He could drop another album as he did in 2016… people will change, bro.,” he added. “Drake might even meet somebody, marry a woman the whole world loves, and everybody will forgive it.”
Boosie was asked if Drake can get back to being “Drake” after everything — this was his response:

Drake’s hiatus from rap has had an impact on the industry as a whole. The last hit to appear in the Billboard Hot 100 was Drake’s What Did I Miss. A single from his upcoming album, which he dropped last July. It has been nine months since a rap song has charted on the Hot 100.
It will be interesting to see what Drizzy has in store for the upcoming drop.
