Star Kodak Black appeared in court on Thursday (May 7) following his recent arrest. Fortunately for the rap star, he won’t be remanded to prison. A judge granted him a bond to the tune of $75,000.
Kodak Granted Bond Following Drug Arrest
As part of his bond, Kodak black will be barred from visiting the scene of the incident, the Children’s Safety Village, and must refrain from contacting his co-defendants, according to the Miami Herald.
He is also restricted from possessing or using any drugs or controlled substances without a valid prescription. He also isn’t allowed to carry any firearms.
To bring things up to speed, the No Flockin rapper was jailed on drug trafficking charges earlier this month. The arrest stems from a November 2025 incident. When officers responded to calls of gunshots near the Children’s Safety Village in Orlando, a nonprofit helping kids at risk
Officers searched two luxury cars in the area of the reported shooting. A Lamborghini and a BMW. And when the vehicles reeked of marijuana, the officers executed a search of the cars. And found “MDMA in an amount exceeding the trafficking threshold,” according to Rolling Stone.
They were able to connect Kodak to the crime after finding a pair of scissors that were seen in Black’s Instagram post a week prior. In addition to a prison ID with Kodak’s legal name, Bill Kapri.
Rapper’s Lawyer Speaks Out Following Drug Arrest
In a statement to TMZ, the rap star’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, says that Kodak’s arrest was a “coordinated surrender.”
He expressed his confidence, noting that the charges had a “weak legal basis,” and added that he and his client “look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed.”
However, even though Kodak was not in the vehicle during the time of the stop, his track record won’t do him any favors. He has a lengthy history of drug-related offenses.
Back in 2023, he was arrested in Broward County for cocaine possession as well as a charge of evidence tampering.
The previous year, the rap star was arrested for another drug charge. This time for trafficking oxycodone and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.
