Drake is currently celebrating the success of his ninth studio album, Iceman. But amid that celebration, Drizzy has reportedly also found himself in the midst of drama. A new report claims that his October’s Very Own (OVO) record label is facing a huge lawsuit.
Drake Reportedly Being Sued Over Unpaid Debt
In a report shared by DocumentTingz on X, formerly known as Twitter, court docs show that Drake’s label is being taken to court. One of the labels lenders A.R.I. OVO Growth Capital is claiming that the rapper has defaulted on a loan given to him in 2025. And they are seeking a larger amount for interest, legal and professional fees, among other costs. In total, they are looking to collect $4.6 million from the rapper.
⚖️COURT UPDATE⚖️A.R.I. OVO Growth Capital I, LLC has filed a civil claim against October’s Very Own ULC in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Vancouver Registry, seeking to recover more than $4.6 million allegedly owed under convertible debt agreements.

Of course, fans in the comments section had plenty of reactions to the report.
“Remember when these owls were saying that Aubrey was a billionaire? What kind of billionaire can’t pay a $5m?” one user asked.
“No wonder Drake wants to compete with Hov on the Billboard, he can’t compete on the other lists,” a second user added.
“This will get tossed or settled, but OVO will not pay this unless they absolutely have to,” a third user added.
This report comes days after a report from JustFreshKicks on X, stating that Drake is looking to sell half of the company to Authentic Brands Group. The group is behind the licensing for several other apparel powerhouses, such as Reebok, Champion, Forever 21, and Sports Illustrated. And on the music side, Authentic holds the rights to public figures such as Elvin Presley and Marilyn Monroe.
