Former No Limit artist Mac recently revealed that Master P had a unique approach to making music — claiming the No Limit founder freestyled every song he ever recorded.
In a recent interview, Mac explained that while rappers like Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., and Lil Wayne are known for not writing their lyrics down, they still construct their rhymes mentally before stepping in the booth. “They write in their head and repeat their raps over and over in their mind,” Mac clarified.
However, he said Master P’s process was completely different. “P never did any of that,” Mac shared. “He would hear a beat, and if everybody liked it, he’d go straight into the booth and freestyle whatever he was thinking at the time — and that was the song.”
The revelation sheds new light on Master P’s spontaneous and fearless creative process during the height of No Limit Records’ success, proving once again that the mogul’s unconventional methods played a key role in shaping one of Hip-Hop’s most influential eras.
