Ye, formerly known as rap star Kanye West, is learning the hard way that no one is exempt from cancel culture.
Kanye West Sends Message to Fans After Postponing Show
Kanye made a bevy of distasteful remarks in 2025. And in 2026, he’s paying for it. As his past actions have forced one of his upcoming shows to be cancelled and another one of them to be postponed. Even after taking out a full page in the Wall Street Journal to apologize.
The Grammy winner took to social media on Tuesday night (April 14) to send a message to his fans. And noted that he takes “full responsibility” for his past actions and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it right. But he also doesn’t want to make his fans a casualty.
“I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends,” the rapper wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday. “I take full responsibility for what’s mine, but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it. My fans are everything to me. Looking forward to the next shows. See you at the top of the globe.”

Ye was set to headline Wireless Festival in the United Kingdom this July. However, the decision was met with considerable backlash. With the U.K. having such a large population of Jewish people, combined with the West’s past antisemitic remarks, the U.K. Government was forced to block West from entering the country. Instead of simply replacing Ye as the headline, Wireless Festival opted to cancel the show altogether.
Following his being banned from obtaining a UK Visa, the French Government began to explore blocking him from entering the country for an upcoming show in Marseille. But instead of waiting for them to drop the hammer, he just postponed the show until a later date.
