2024 was more of the most entertaining years in the hip-hop community in recent memory. And that is largely thanks to the rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Kendrick Lamar Withheld ‘Damaging’ Information About Drake

Kendrick kicked off the beef when he called out J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” But his first solo show at Drake came on his track Euphoria. The song made several accusations about Drake. However, despite several hard-hitting appearances the Compton-born artist may have held back. According to his label mate TDE Punch, there was “damaging” information in the raw version that was withheld.

“I don’t know the length, but there was definitely a version that was longer than what the world got. There was a lot of stuff that didn’t make it on there,” Punch said during a recent interview with Curtis King TV.

He added: “There were just some things in there that I didn’t think would have been beneficial in the long run to put in there. So I gave him my input on that and he took some of those things out.”

The TDE President also added that the beef between the two rap stars had been brewing for a while.

“[The energy] had been bubbling for a while. We had been pretty close-mouthed about it […] He played the record for Top [Dawg]. I talked to Top and he told me a little bit about the record so I hit Dot like, ‘It’s going down?’ He said, ‘Yeah, we’ll see what’s up.’ [He was] laughing.

He also added:

“People think that this is so serious but it’s funny. This n-gga is from Compton, California, bro. Where he grew up, it’s serious over there — you get shot at, you get home invasions, you get gang wars. We’re talking about music, bruh, so it’s funny! So I hear the record and I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s up. It’s going time now, baby.’”
