Dody6’s apology followed a social media rant during which he revealed he had fallen on hard times.
“N-gga I lost my house. I’m homeless. On Crip, I admit that shit,” he said. “I fell down. I’ma bounce back up though, watch this. It’s all good, cuh.”
During the same video, Dody expressed frustration with fans who believed his feature on GNX‘s “hey now” should have changed his circumstances.
“N**ga that f**king song with Kendrick ain’t change s**t. What the f**k does that change n***a? I’m still from 40s. I’m still over here. You act like a n**ga got a million dollars for that s**t. The f**k? Only thing a n**ga got is some clout and f**k clout! On the dead homies.”
Dody received harsh criticism from some of his peers including another GNX collaborator Hitta J3. The Compton rapper defended Lamar on social media for giving opportunities to smaller artists.
“This exactly why Big artist don’t reach out to new n—as [Kendrick] be just showing love to n—as so put some respect on blood name he don’t know even know these n—as but be going out his way to help others win.
