KRS-One is once again putting his knowledge and curiosity on full display, this time diving into theories surrounding the origins of humanity.
During an appearance on the Lemme Ask You This Podcast, the Hip-Hop legend discussed what the earliest humans may have looked like while sharing his belief that every race can trace its lineage back to an indigenous ancestor.
The conversation eventually led KRS-One into the controversial “Aquatic Ape Theory,” which proposes that certain characteristics of human evolution may have developed during a period when early human ancestors spent significant time living in or around water.
KRS-One explored the possibility that humanity’s story could have deeper connections to the ocean than commonly discussed, questioning whether some of the physical characteristics humans possess today could be connected to an aquatic stage of evolution.
While the Aquatic Ape Theory remains outside the scientific mainstream and is not generally accepted as the leading explanation for human evolution, KRS-One used the discussion to encourage listeners to think more broadly about human ancestry, race and the origins of civilization.
Known throughout his career for mixing Hip-Hop with history, philosophy and social commentary, KRS-One continues to spark conversations that extend far beyond music.
