On Valentine’s Day, February 14, the “Traumazine” artist revealed that she would be launching a new tequila. The tequila is called Chicas Divertidas, which in English means fun girls or funny girls, which is right on brand with the brand’s motto which encourages people to “Keep it cute, classy, and cut-throat.” The Blanco version of the tequila will retail for $70 with the reposado version of the tequila retailing for $80. The tequila is currently only available for preorder as the brand gets ready for a full rollout in the coming weeks just in time for the summer months.

Following the launch of the tequila, Megan chose to go with tequila over the other types of wine and spirits because it just fits her brand more.

“Well, everybody knows I’m hot girl culture. I like to have fun. Everybody knows that I am a vibe curator. When you go to parties, in my experience, everybody’s drink of choice is tequila,” the artist told Forbes.

“I feel like it’s just a universal happy drink. And I have always loved a good reposado. It’s my favorite. So I decided, I needed to be the one bringing the vibe to parties–with gifts. So that’s how I came up with Chicas.”

At one point all of the celebs in the wine and spirits industry were all flocking to own wine or champagne brands. But the tequila industry is on the rise as of late. Some of the top tastemakers including LeBron James, Kevin Hart, and the Rock have invested in tequila brands. However, even with some of the most prominent names in the world already staking a claim in the tequila industry, Megan says she feels Chicas Divertidas has what it takes to stand out.

“I’m not a brand ambassador for a liquor. I’m not just putting my face on someone else’s brand. This is my tequila,” she added.

“I took my time to craft the liquid and the bottle. Everything about this represents me. It’s my business; it’s my company. And that sets me apart from other celebrity-endorsed alcohols.”
