Nicki Minaj is reflecting on her career and she seems to wish she handled things differently. Speaking on the Bryce Crawford podcast, a Christian show, Minaj revealed how she came to these reflections.
What Did Nicki Minaj Say?
On the show, Minaj critiqued the music industry’s push for materialism, believing she was complicit in its push.
“I feel a sense of responsibility because a lot of the stuff that I was rapping about I didn’t realize that there are young people listening to it and how it could probably make them make certain decisions that wasn’t really thought out,” Minaj said. “Now, if I could do it all over again, I would have changed a lot of things that I said because I just don’t like the idea of thinking that these people will now grow up wanting to change themselves as opposed to loving themselves, as opposed to seeing how beautiful they are and realizing how much they have to offer the world just the way they are. That’s that’s what I think is very demonic about the [music] industry as a whole.”
Minaj also discussed her faith and how she found god again after years of not going to church.

What Else Did Minaj Discuss In The Podcast?
Later in the podcast, Minaj also discussed how her feelings on the music industry changed over time.
“In the beginning it was a lot of fun,” Minaj said. We had so much fun rooting for each other. I thought that’s how it would always be. I just thought the camaraderie was how it was supposed to be. I started realizing people are really vindictive in this industry that if you get money with one person or a specific people they don’t want you to get money at all. And that’s when I started realizing like oh my gosh what did I sign up for?
Minaj, a devout Trump supporter, had planned to drop an album this year, but it seems like that’s not coming anytime soon. After she went fully public with her endorsement of the President, her record label, Republic, issued a statement to the Wall Street Journal.
“As Nicki Minaj’s record label, we do not comment on her political activities. When she’s ready to discuss music, she knows how to reach us.”
Minaj did not discuss making new music in the interview.
