RZA is busy promoting his new film “One Spoon Of Chocolate,” leading to several interviews. During his stop on The Jason Lee Show, he was asked about several topics, including his feelings on the Kendrick Lamar/Drake beef.
What Did RZA Say About The Kendrick Lamar/Drake Beef?
When asked about his thoughts on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, the New York rapper gave a nuanced and conflicted take on the topic.
“I think it started off good, but it ended up gray,” RZA said. “We don’t know them individually. So what’s real about their lyrics and what’s fake is gray. If you believe what Kendrick is saying, then, wow, that s*** is deep on Drake. Or if you believe what Drake is saying, that s*** is deep on Kendrick. That’s where it gets ugly.”
The WU-Tang legend went on to use 2Pac claiming he slept with Biggie’s wife Faith Evans is an example of where beefs that fabricate the truth can go awry.
“We believed that,” RZA said. “Even though Faith says she didn’t, some people still believe that.” That’s what JAY-Z is warning of us. Like we don’t need more of that, collaboration is better… We cold use that same competitive force to move in the right direction.”
Jason Lee also asked the rapper if Drake suing Kendrick violated Hip Hop code and RZA agreed.

What Else Did He Talk About In His Interview?
Jason Lee asked RZA how he reacted when he learned A$AP Rocky and Rihanna named their first child RZA Athelston Mayers.
“I took that as an honor, respect, and blessing,” RZA said. “I’ve watched [A$AP Rocky] become who he is. He actually said something to me that I was very impressed by: ‘I wanna be the next you.’ He said that right in my eyes, and I said ‘rock the world,’ and he did it.”
RZA continued explaining his feelings about A$AP honoring him
“It’s not just a name, it’s a title,” RZA said. “I pray that this young man as he grows is able to measure things and understand, not just the laws of the land, but the laws of the universe.”
Rihanna & A$AP Rocky have two other children including Riot Rose Mayers and their newest born Rocki Irish Mayers.
