One of Young Dolph’s convicted killers, Justin Johnston, also known as Straight Drop, recently appeared on the Never Said podcast via a prison phone call.
Dolph’s Killer Reveals Why Their Relationship Went Sour
The interviewer confronted Straight Drop. About was how he was spotted in the background of Young Dolph’s music videos. As well as the music videos of Dolph’s cousin, Key Glock. And was asked what his thoughts were on fans clowning him. For “biting the hand” that once fed him. And he had an … interesting response.
“The only time you bite the hand that’s feeding you is when you do it out of spite; that’s biting the hand that’s feeding you. Knowing the hand that’s feeding you, and you still do something snake, or slimy, or grimey. They don’t know that [Dolph] came to me with a certain beef,” Straight Drop said in a clip caught by MyMixtapez on X.

Straight Dropp went on to say that Dolph approached him with an offer to sign a record deal with his label, Paper Route Empire. And when he declined the offer, the rap star began to treat him like an “opp.”
“So I would come around, and niggas keep quiet, n****s acting funny. I’m a real street n***a. I peep everything; ain’t too much getting past me. Because of my lifestyle, where I come from, and how I came up,” he continued. “I took all of that into consideration. And make the best decision and judgement of the situation. And you gotta think that the leader is going to be the one who calls the shots.
Dolph was murdered inside a local Memphis hotspot, Makeda’s Cookies, in November 2021. Johnston was sentenced to life in prison at the conclusion of his trial in September 2024.
