Ray Vaughn Hits Back at Joey Badass on New Freestyle

On a new freestyle, titled “H*e Era,” Ray Vaughn aims at Joey, and he does not pull any punches. Here are some of the hardest bars from his new freestyle.

“Goofy, don’t let Power get your TV turnt off,” he says, referencing Badass’s role as Unique in Raising Kanan. The show is a part of 50 Cent’s Power Universe.

He also says: “Standing next to Soul ain’t gonna save you,” referring to the Rap Star’s relationship with rapper Ab-Soul.

He adds: “You carrying no torch, you let Ice Spice turn into King of New York.”

This latest freestyle seems to be in response to Badass’s May 13 appearance on the Redbull Cypher alongside Big Sean and Ab-Soul. In the freestyle, the rapper/actor declares himself the hottest rapper out, regardless of the coast.

“They must’ve forgot what K. Dot said on Control, still a bunch of sensitive rappers in their pyjama clothes […] this ain’t East vs West, I just think that I’m the best,” he raps on the song.

He also takes aim at West Coast rap star Daylyt.

“I ain’t gotta lose no sleep to break Daylyt (Chill)/ Shouldn’t give you ni**as time of day/ But f**k it, shine a light on ’em, I’mma light Ray/ Now how can I say this all in a nice way?/ If you need the attention, tell Top he’s gotta pay.”

Joey has gained notoriety as an actor over the past few years. But many seem to have forgotten that he is still one of the coldest emcees out. It will be interesting to see if he responds.
