Cardi B’s long-awaited sophomore album, Am I The Drama? Dropped on September 19th. And so far, the album title is living up to its name.
With seven years passing since Cardi’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, was released, the Bronx emcee had a lot to address on her latest project. On one of the songs titled Pretty & Petty, she reignites her beef with rap star BIA.
“Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head / Bow, I’m dead / That melatonin flow puttin’ us to bed / I’m doing you a favor, Epic, run me my bread,” she raps on the track.
BIA Responds to Cardi B Diss Track
After Cardi dropped her new song, all eyes turned to BIA to see if she would respond. And she did — just not in the booth. In a new interview with Hot 97 that dropped on October 8, BIA admits that she knew Cardi would send shots her way on her new album.
“I was like, ‘Well, I’m glad she felt like she’d get that off. ’I knew it was coming because, like, this is rap. I’m competitive, so, like: I diss you, you diss me, but you diss me, I diss you,” she said on the Bronx emcee. “We know what the reasons were and why it was all happening, so I just, it’s part of the game, right, you know?”
She also said that she wasn’t bothered by Cardi’s new song. And according to her, there is no purpose in responding. Because she believes she would actually be competing against Pardison Fontaine, Cardi’s alleged ghostwriter.
“It doesn’t really make me feel any type of way other than like, it’s not true. Like, there are things on there that’s like, and what am I supposed to do? Keep rapping with Pardison [Fontaine]? You know I gotta, like, let that go.”
But she did leave the door open for a potential response.
“I can always address it after. Like, I can always drop it, not drop it … but I just feel like it’s like a little beneath me because that was a year ago for me,” she added.
