As most expected him to, Joe Budden has responded to Charlamagne Tha God’s recent comments about the reported tension between the two of them.

Joe Budden Responds to Charlamagne The God

During the most recent episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, the media maven said that he had no issues with the comments that Charlamagne made about him. In fact, in his words, it was “dope.”

“I want to see Black people continuing to be successful. Like I want to see my friends—that Charlamagne sh*t, Charlamagne did Angie’s sh*t, he said some dope sh*t. That was dope,” Budden said of the Breakfast Club host.

Budden’s reported issues with The Breakfast Club host are based on the comments Charlamagne made during his contract negotiations when Joe’s podcast was on Spotify. Charlamage suggested that Budden knew his worth but was unsure how to negotiate it. He also suggested that it was his team that was to blame when it came to the contract dispute. In addition, he said that Budden was not in the same tier as bigger podcasters such as Joe Rogan.

The Breakfast Club host recently signed a reported $200 million deal with iHeartMedia. He will continue his role as host of the morning program and will also look to elevate his Black Effect Podcast network to new heights.  Despite the reported tension between him and Charlamagne, Budden appears to be more proud of him than anything. Especially considering that they both came from humble beginnings.

“It got me thinking about just even the history between him and me and where we both are,” Budden continued. “Like someone got a picture of me and him in a South Carolina radio station in 2001 and 2002 looking dusty and bummy, just two talented n****s passionate about something. I like it. He probably got it, but we don’t speak.”
