Nas has announced that applications are now open for the Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship at the W.E.B. Du Bois Research Center for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Launched in 2013 through a partnership between Nas and Harvard University, the fellowship is designed for both scholars and artists who demonstrate exceptional academic promise and creative ability connected to Hip-Hop culture. The program supports work that bridges scholarship and artistic expression, emphasizing Hip-Hop’s role in education, history, and cultural discourse.
Each year, 20 participants are selected to engage in projects spanning art, design, Hip-Hop, creative writing, African American studies, and related fields. The fellowship has become a respected platform for advancing serious study and creative exploration of Hip-Hop within an academic setting.
The deadline to apply for the 2026–2027 cohort is January 30, offering a major opportunity for emerging thinkers and creators to study and build at one of the world’s most prestigious institutions.
