Nicki Minaj is approaching a critical legal deadline, with reports indicating she has until later this week to pay a $503,000 lawsuit judgment—or risk losing her $20 million California mansion.
The legal dispute stems from a 2022 lawsuit filed by former security guard Thomas Weidenmuller, who alleged he was assaulted in 2019 by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. After Minaj reportedly failed to respond, the case resulted in a default judgment in 2024 ordering her to pay roughly half a million dollars.
Last November, Cindy Pánuco of the Los Angeles Superior Court stated she intended to enforce the sale of Minaj’s home to satisfy the judgment. However, the court delayed action to review financial records showing how much of the property’s original $13 million mortgage had been paid. Minaj purchased the home in October 2022, and it is now valued at approximately $20 million.
Judge Pánuco is scheduled to issue a final ruling on Thursday, January 22, barring a last-minute payment or appeal from Minaj. With the clock ticking, the case has entered what many are calling its final and most consequential phase.
