Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony had time to respond to rap artist Finesse2Tymes. After the rapper claimed that the iconic group tried to charge him an unreasonable amount for the use of a sample.
Layzie Bone Hits Back at Finesse2Tymes Over Past Comments
In a statement, Layzie claimed that the Memphis artist had been a victim of misinformation. Noting that the song that he tried to sample doesn’t belong to Bon Thugs, it belongs to the late rap icon, the Notorious B.I.G.
“Young man, I like what you did to the Bone & Biggie Beat. But first off, we don’t own the song,” Layzie started (via XXL). “That’s Biggie’s song off his album. You would have had to go through Bad Boy for that clearance.”
Layzie then tried to use the confrontation as a teachable moment for the rap artist. Advising him to “slow down” with his drug usage and learn how to “navigate” the music business.
“If you want to have longevity in this business like Bone, slow down on those drugs and get yourself a team to help you understand and navigate the business. We’re grown and too old for drama. Check yourself, young grasshopper,” Layzie concluded.
However, the Memphis artist didn’t seem to take kindly to the remarks made by Layzie Bone. And it didn’t take long before he issued a rebuttal.
“I ain’t gonne lie idgaf about no neck bone, back bone, knuckles, cheek bone. If it was a mistake, ok cool. But keep that extra s**t to yourself. Or we can meet at the crossroads,” he wrote in the comments section of his reply.
