Despite being a convicted felon, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will not stop fighting for his freedom. And he just received some good news as it relates to him potentially becoming a free man again.
Diddy Gets Date For Appeals Trial
On Friday (February 6), Grouchy Greg Watkins of AllHipHop revealed that the Bad Boy Records trial just locked in a date for the court to review his appeal. According to Watkins, Diddy’s appeal has been set for April 9, 2026.
In May 2025, Combs was convicted of interstate prostitution. And in October, he was sentenced to 50 Months in Fort Dix Correctional Facility. Combs was staring down an even deeper hole when he was arrested by the feds in September 2024. He was also on trial for trafficking people via his now-infamous Hollywood parties, also known as freak-offs. Had he been convicted of the more serious charge, he likely would have spent the rest of his life in prison.
Getting the appeal date was a major victory. But the music mogul still has a steep hill to climb to secure his freedom. Diddy tried several times to get bond while he was awaiting sentencing over the prostitution charges. But each time, he was quickly denied.
It also won’t help that just over two months ago, a new Netflix documentary about him dropped. The film, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, explores Combs’ years of criminal and abusive behaviour during his rise to the top of the music industry. It also features witness testimonies from several of his former artists and business partners, speaking out about how his behaviour is still impacting their lives, years later.
Combs is scheduled to be released from prison in June 2028.
