Cam Newton & Gillie The Kid Link Up During Super Bowl Weekend
Among the stars in Santa Clara were Gillie Da Kid and former NFL MVP Cam Newton. In a video that began to circulate on social media on Friday Night (February 6), Gillie spots Cam Newton. From the car he is riding in. He then hops out and sneaks up on the unsuspecting ESPN analyst. And Cam was excited to see the Philadelphia rap artist out on the West Coast for the big game.
“You gonna stop talking that s**t before I catch you?” Gillie says jokingly as he walks up on Cam, who screams in excitement after realizing it’s Gillie.
Cam then looks into the camera and says, “We can’t show this footage because we are supposed to hate each other.

Newton & Gillie had a long-running social media feud. The catalyst was a debate over NFL quarterback rankings, specifically Cam’s exclusion of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts from his top-10 list on his 4th & 1 podcast. Gillie, who is a noted Eagles superfan, responded to Newton’s comments on his and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. He called the former Carolina Panthers star “corny” and highlighted that Hurts had won a Super Bowl title, unlike Newton, who lost to the Denver Broncos back in 2016. Cam hit back by referring to Gillie as the Eagles’ mascot.
All in all, things seem to be good between the two personalities. They even snapped a photo together to commemorate the moment.
