J. Cole has officially confirmed that his long-discussed project It’s A Boy is still on the way, putting rumors of it being scrapped to rest. However, fans will have to wait a bit longer for its release.
According to Cole, the delay comes down to timing and volume. After releasing the Birthday Blizzard tape and a massive 24-track album this year, he and his team felt it would be too much music for fans to fully process all at once. Cole revealed that It’s A Boy was nearly released before the album, but they ultimately decided to hold it back.
“No it’s not scrapped. It will release,” Cole said, emphasizing that the decision was strategic rather than creative. With such a heavy output already in circulation, Cole appears focused on letting his recent work breathe before adding another chapter to his catalog.
While no new release date has been announced, the confirmation alone has fans reassured that It’s A Boy remains very much alive—and simply waiting for the right moment.
