Boosie Badazz is now under investigation after Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced her office is reviewing promotional materials tied to the rapper’s BoosieBash festival.
According to the Attorney General, festival advertisements used the name and image of Caleb Wilson, a late Southern University student, without permission from his family. The controversy centers around promo flyers that referenced a proposed scholarship fund in Wilson’s honor—something his parents say they never approved or authorized.
The state is now examining the situation for possible consumer protection violations, which could result in legal consequences, including fines, if wrongdoing is found.
Boosie has addressed the controversy, maintaining that his intentions were positive and that he was trying to do something meaningful in tribute to Wilson. However, what he describes as a miscommunication has now escalated into a formal investigation.
The outcome of the review could have significant implications for the BoosieBash event and highlights the importance of proper authorization when using individuals’ names and likenesses, especially in connection with charitable efforts.
