Hip-hop icons Wu-Tang Clan have officially been nominated for induction into the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, marking another major milestone in the group’s legendary run.
The Staten Island collective is one of 17 nominees this year, joining a diverse class that includes Mariah Carey, Sade, New Edition, Luther Vandross, P!NK, Shakira, Phil Collins, Oasis, The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge, Billy Idol, INXS, Iron Maiden, and Joy Division / New Order.
If inducted, the official announcements will be made in April. Honorees can be recognized under three special committee categories: Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non Performer Award.
The nomination adds to hip-hop’s growing presence within the Rock Hall. Last year, OutKast received their induction, while Salt-N-Pepa were honored for Musical Influence.
For Wu-Tang Clan — a group that revolutionized hip-hop with its gritty lyricism, innovative production, and groundbreaking business model — the nomination is yet another recognition of a cultural legacy that extends far beyond music. April will reveal whether the Clan officially enters the Rock Hall chambers, but their influence on the culture is already cemented.
