Hip-hop icon and business mogul Dr. Dre has officially reached billionaire status, according to the latest 2026 Billionaires List released by Forbes.
Dre’s inclusion places him among a rare group of ultra-wealthy entertainers. Forbes reports that out of the 22 billionaire entertainers identified, nearly half have joined the list within the past three years—highlighting a major surge in wealth creation across the entertainment industry.
With the milestone, Dr. Dre becomes just the sixth musician in history to reach billionaire status, joining fellow music powerhouses like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Rihanna.
Best known as a pioneering producer, rapper, and co-founder of Beats Electronics, Dre’s fortune has largely been fueled by business ventures, including the massive sale of Beats to Apple in 2014.
The achievement further solidifies Dr. Dre’s legacy not only as one of hip-hop’s most influential architects but also as one of the culture’s most successful entrepreneurs.
