Uncle Murda believes the way New York views snitching is far stricter than in many other cities.
During a recent interview with VladTV, the Brooklyn rapper explained that in New York’s street culture, any association with cooperating with law enforcement can permanently damage a rapper’s reputation.
According to Murda, even something like appearing in a Crime Stoppers commercial could end an artist’s credibility in the city. He pointed to T.I.’s past Crime Stoppers situation as an example, suggesting that if a New York rapper had done the same thing, their career in the streets would likely have been finished.
Murda’s comments sparked conversation online, once again highlighting how different regions within Hip-Hop culture often have their own unwritten rules when it comes to street credibility.
