Of course, the latest news has led to numerous reactions from fans on social media.
“He’s a walk-on trying out for the team lol anybody that can get enrolled in LSU can walk on for tryouts, but we all know he’s not making the team,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Play time or not, this is tough lol prob was a childhood dream,” a second user added.
“One hit from the safety and he’s done for a career, ” a third user remarked.
In 2025, Toosii announced he was pausing his music career to pursue his dream of playing college football. It appeared that the dream had become a reality when the artist revealed that he was accepted into Syracuse University and intended to play for their football team the following season.
However, when Syracuse head football coach Fran Brown spoke to reporters in January, he cast doubt on Toosii playing for the University. And revealed to reporters that Toosii was never on scholarship. And that the two of them had discussed him trying to make the team as a walk-on player. But even as a walk-on, Brown was unsure if there would be a space for Toosii. Especially because they were expecting more commits following the conclusion of the high school football season.
It will be interesting to see if Toosii takes the field for LSU this season.
