Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was a surprise guest during comedian Deon Cole’s show at Hollywood Improv on Tuesday night (April 8). And the rap star made some interesting comments.

Kanye West Says ‘Nobody’ Can Beat Him in A Verzuz

While on stage with Cole, the comedian asked Kanye who he thought could hang with him in a potential Verzuz matchup. To which he responded: “Nobody.”

Ye then goes on to reference all of the hits he did not perform at his two sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium this past weekend. Referencing tracks like “Gold Digger,” which did not make the final cut of his set list.

Of course, Ye’s comments caused a huge debate among fans on social media.

“Bruh, not lying. No one in hip-hop can step to film; he has anthems. And don’t say Drake cause most of his crazy hit songs are girl songs,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Prime Drake vs Ye Verzuz would actually be close and people not ready for that convo,” a second user added.

“He seems so confident for a guy who hired ghostwriters on all of his projects,” a third person chimed in.

Do you think anybody can hold a candle to Ye in a Verzuz?

Kanye found himself at the center of controversy again this month. After he was announced as the headliner for the 2026 Wireless Festival in London, U.K. But with the country having such a large Jewish population, there was a lot of backlash. Because of his past antisemitic comments.

In response to the backlash, several sponsors such as Rockstar Energy, Pepsico, Diageo, and PayPal nixed their partnerships. And ultimately, the UK government imposed a ban on West, blocking him from getting a visa that would allow him entry into the country.

As a result, Wireless Festival canceled its 2026 event.
