Lil Poppa’s mother has shared new details surrounding the rapper’s tragic death earlier this year.
On Monday (May 18), the Jacksonville artist’s mother posted a statement on Instagram addressing the results of his autopsy and toxicology reports. According to her statement, Lil Poppa had methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death in February, which was ruled a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“As his family, we truly believe the drugs played a major part in what happened,” the statement read in part. “Although he did struggle with depression and anxiety, we know in our hearts that the substances affecting his mind and judgment made an already difficult battle even heavier.”
