Rap artist JID put BET on Blast over their lack of acknowledgement in a recent social media post.
JID Blasts BET Over Lack of ‘Acknowledgement’
JID’s fourth studio album, God Does Like Ugly, was released in August 2025. It reached a peak of number 11 on the Billboard Hot 200. It is also a Grammy Award nominee for Best Rap Album of the year
In a since-deleted post, the rap star expressed his “hate” for the network. And questioned how he could receive five Grammy nominations but not be considered for a BET Award.
“Five Grammy nominations. Zero BET nomination/acknowledgement. Nothing. N*** remixes the same people every year at the BET awards,” he said in a post caught by Kurrco on X.
JID calls out the BET Awards in now-deleted posts after being left out of this year’s nominations:

Of course, JID’s post garnered tons of reactions on social media.
“Valid crash out. French Montana got nominated, but he didn’t,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“He’s right, but the Grammys pull the same s**t and he apart of that,” a second user chimed in.
“N***as crying over awards rather than putting out a good body of work,” a third user remarked.
JID has been dubbed one of the top lyricists in the game. But his talent hasn’t exactly led to a lot of commercial success. But Dreamville boss, J. Cole, believes that day could eventually come for the Grammy nominee.
During an appearance on the Lost in Vegas podcast, Cole said he believes that JID has the tools to surpass himself, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar in the rap industry.
“JID has the desire, the will, and the want to surpass all of us… He got what I had, and what I’m sure Kendrick had, and what Drake had. The high bar for himself, you know what I mean?” Cole said, “He can do it… But, more important than all, he’s willing to do the work. He’s got the work ethic to do it, and he loves this sh*t.”
