Meek Mill has taken issue with Nike over their new collection for Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the Philadelphia artist called out the sneaker giant over their new Dreams & Nightmares collection for the Lakers star. And suggested that they used his 2012 smash record of the same name.
Meek Mill Blasts Nike Over LeBron Dreams & Nightmares Collection
“So [Nike] just gone take my whole brand and mash it up with LeBron … what is this … why wouldn’t anybody holler at me about this? I thought the sneakers were fake? Wassup with this?” he wrote on social media on Tuesday.

Fans also pointed out that the front of the shirt is eerily similar to Meek’s Mixtape Cover DreamChasers 3. Meek’s mixtape cover features a mashup photo of himself and a Lion. Nike’s apparel features a mashup of LeBron and a Lion.

However, fans did some more digging. And found out that Meek had just submitted a filing to the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) last week for the phrase. Despite his hit record being nearly 15 years old.

The LeBron 23 Dreams & Nightmares edition pays tribute to LeBron finally securing his first career championship. Against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his post-game interview, James famously said that it was “about damn time” in response to how he felt about winning his first of four NBA championships. The white and gold colorway pays tribute to that moment. And the “championship spark” that it started in his Hall of Fame career.
Nike has not responded to the comments make by Meek Mill.
