Rap star Isaiah Rashad sat down with Complex’s Jordan Rose ahead of his Lil Sunny’s Awful Road Trip tour. And being that Rashad is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, one of the topics they touched on was the Memphis Grizzlies.
Isaiah Rashad Rips Ja Morant in Recent Interview
Rashad starts the clip by expressing how much he “hates” the Grizzlies. Due to his feeling that they are a “bad representation of the state.”
Rose then asks him how he feels about Morant individually. And he doesn’t hold back with his response.
“Ja sucks too. As a role player and role model,” he said. “And he’s a terrible adjuster. All we needed you to do was get a consistent jumper and play some defense. But he wanted to color his dreads and be cute.”
Rose responds by defending Morant. Saying that he is “still a bucket.”
However, Rashad continued to lay into the Grizzlies’ star.
“He has a bucket in the playground. I have nothing. They can hate me. I do not like Ja Morant. I hope Anthony Edwards takes your cookies everywhere you go. He’s a false prophet. They were trying to combine [Allen Iverson] and Steve Francis and got the worst of both.”

However, fans in the comments section had mixed reactions to the rapper’s comments.
“He’s not wrong. Ja Morant is a bad role model and also blames his actions on everyone. And he gets babied all the time because of how he acts,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“This is why we don’t claim Tennessee as our state. Memphis vs everybody,” another user added.
At the time, Ja has not spoken out about Isaiah Rashad’s comments.
