Swizz Beatz is among a group of music publishers suing a North Carolina bar for allegedly playing copyrighted songs without the proper license.

According to a lawsuit filed this month, Boatyard Lake Norman in Cornelius repeatedly played ASCAP-licensed music despite years of attempts to get the venue to obtain a public performance license. The complaint names tracks including DMX’s “Party Up (Up in Here),” House of Pain’s “Jump Around,” Eddie Murphy’s “Party All the Time” and Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance.”

The plaintiffs—including Swizz Beatz, Universal Music Corp. and several other publishers—are seeking up to $30,000 in damages per song, plus attorney fees and a court order preventing the bar from playing ASCAP-licensed music without authorization.
