Could former Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson be the key to a Drake and LeBron James reconciliation? He certainly seems to think so.
Tristan Thompson is ‘Trying’ To Fix Drake & LeBron’s Rift
Thompson recently appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay and addressed the tension between the NBA champ and the Grammy-winning artist.
Thompson starts by saying that hip-hop “needed” Drake and uses the trifecta of albums he dropped in May to support his claim. That’s when Sharpe suggests that Thompson may be the best person to mend the fence between James and Drake. And Thompson responds by saying he “would love to” be the person to do it. He also confirms that he has been “trying” to fix things between the two former friends.

The source of the tension between Drake and LeBron was when the hoop star appeared at Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out Concert in 2024 amid his feud with Drizzy. Drake all but confirmed that after he appeared to take shots at LeBron on his Iceman track, Make Them Remember.
“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” Drake raps on the track.
But even though Drake is currently at odds with James, the NBA star’s agent, Rich Paul, believes that the two of them could hash things out in the future.
“At the end of the day, I think it’s important that adults really reconcile down the road. And stay out of that stuff…. I don’t get involved in that, but for me it’s just about allowing time to pass. Hopefully, they can reconcile their differences,” he said as caught by NBA Courtside on X. “I do think in any situation it’s important to remove the middle man. I think over time you need the two people to have a conversation if they’re able to get there.”
