The tragic death of Lil Poppa is still felt throughout the Hip Hop community. The circumstances have taken an even grimmer turn, shining a light on what may have caused the gifted young rapper to take his own life.
What Is Lil Poppa’s Baby Mother Saying?
Toie Roberts, Poppa’s Baby Mama, took to Instagram to levy some heavy allegations against Poppa’s former manager, Dee Dee.
“You was the one sucking him dry, literally. You caused his death. That’s why he [killed himself] in front of you,” Roberts wrote. “Are you mad because deep down you knew he’d never truly be yours or love you out loud. You’re sick. A 50 year old tied a** w**** who fell in love with a young a** boy you were supposed to be ‘managing,'” she wrote. “Your beef with me was always about the n**** who was never yours but it was never about Poppa with me, It was about my respect & boundaries from jump h**. About you doing all the conniving sick s*** you doing for years.”
Roberts also alleged that DeeDee was the reason Lil Poppa couldn’t see his kid, because Dee Dee allegedly played “middle man” between Poppa and her child. She also claims DeeDee stole money from him. She claims DeeDee is using her as a scapegoat for the late rapper’s fatal depression, which she says came as a result of Dee Dee’s alleged nefarious actions.
“He was onto you just like everybody else,” she wrote. “That’s why you’re going so hard to point the finger at me but [I] can take that when [I] know Janarious knew deep down what it was with me & what it was with you, snake a** b****.”
Additionally, Roberts alleges DeeDee called a wellness check on her son to stir more trouble.

Why Is Toie Roberts Accusing Poppa’s Manager Of Misconduct?
DeeDee recently jumped on the Big Bank podcast to speak out about Poppa’s suicide, explicitly pointing the finger at Roberts for not letting Lil Poppa see his son.
“Another thing that contributed to his spiral was his baby mama not letting him see his son for three months. The week before he passed, was the second time seeing his son for months. That shit sent him into a black hole. It started a cycle where everyday he was either sad about it, or mad about it. If this situation wouldn’t have happened, [he’d be here.”]
