After spending the last eight seasons in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, LeBron James is moving on. And although James is still one of the top players in the game, not everyone is saddened to see him leave — like Adam 22.
Adam22 Says He’s ‘Happy’ That LeBron is Leaving The Lakers
During a recent episode of his NoJumper podcast, Adam 22 said that he was happy to see LeBron leave the franchise. Due largely in part to how he treated Drake during his feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024.
“I’m happy because I don’t think we should have snakes in the great city of Los Angeles. He did Drake dirty, get him the f**k out of here. I know he’s a great basketball player,” he said in a clip caught by Kurrrco on X.
Adam22 goes on to say that Drake and LeBron portray themselves as being “besties,” but supported Kendrick Lamar’s “scathing” diss record, Not Like Us.

Earlier this month, James informed the franchise that he would not be returning for a ninth season. And that he would enter free agency for the first time since 2018. However, there don’t appear to be any sour feelings between the two parties. Following his departure, the Lakers released a statement, thanking the hoops star for his time with the franchise and wishing him the best in the future.
“LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes in history. We will always be thankful for his eight years with the Lakers — including the title he led us to in 2020 under the toughest imaginable circumstances and the countless records he broke in purple and gold,” Lakers governor Jeanie Buss said in a statement. “We wish him all the best in the future, both on the court and off. He will always be a cherished part of the Lakers family.”
