Akademiks has continued to make claims that Charlamagne is a paid mouthpiece for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. And to strengthen his claim, Akademiks leaked paperwork. Showing that Charlamagne had a financial stake in Jay-Z’s bid to build a casino in New York City’s Times Square.
During a recent stream, Akademiks expressed his shock at finding out the information. And called it a “backdoor special” because Charlamagne was “working with [his] opps.”
After Akademiks’ exposee, a famed New York City DJ went off during his radio show on Hot 97 on Monday night. And he did not hold back on Charlamagne, an employee of Hot 97’s top rival, Power 105.1.
Funk Flex Blasts Charlamagne & Jay-Z
During his rant, Flex claimed that Charlamagne only entered the alleged partnership between Jay-Z and Roc Nation because he was seeking “validation” from a NYC native.
“After Akademiks EXPOSED you, we learned that this was a prior partnership… You rode Hov’s **** every chance you got cause you were looking for validation from a New York Cat,” he said in a clip caught by CalebFromX on X.

“If you say something bad about [Jaÿ-Z] he gets upset & his TEAM gets UPSET… You and your team made personal calls to on air personalities to spin it.”

Flex also blasted Jay-Z over his handling of the Colin Kaepernick situation. And noted how he was willing to stand by him in the wake of his public protest against police brutality. But switched up as soon as the NFL offered him a financial opportunity.
He also claimed that if you try to say anything negative about it, he and Roc Nation become “upset.” And that they employ media personalities to “spin” things in their favor.
“If you say something bad about [Jaÿ-Z], he gets upset & his TEAM gets UPSET… You and your team made personal calls to on-air personalities to spin it,” he added.
At the time of writing, Jay-Z has not responded to Flex’s comments.
