Now that the NBA season is officially over, it’s time for Ice Cube’s Big 3 basketball league to shine.
Ice Cube Issues Big 3 Challenge to the Ball Brothers
And now Cube wants to put his league to the test against NBA talent. Cube recently took to social media and issued a challenge to Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball. For them to take on the Big 3 All-Stars when the league rolls through Charlotte for the championship game this August.
“This summer, we got a challenge from the Ball Brothers. Yeah, we want all three of ya’ll man,” he said in a clip caught by Big_Business_ on X. “Charlotte for our championship game, man. You know what I’m saying? August 22nd in Charlotte, Ball brothers, three-on-three, Big 3 style. Against our [Big 3] All-Stars. What’s up, man? I’ll see you in Charlotte. If you want some of this.”

At the time of writing, the Ball brothers have not responded to Ice Cube’s challenge.
All three Ball Brothers have played in the NBA. But only one of them remains active, LaMelo. And next NBA season, he will have a change of scenery.
The Hornets recently traded Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves. And in exchange, will receive a standout big man, Naz Reid. They will acquire hefty compensation in future draft picks. Included a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030), and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033.
Last season, Ball had an impressive campaign for Charlotte. He averaged 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game. The move to Minnesota will pair him with another All-Star guard, Anthony Edwards. And the pairing will give them one of the more explosive backcourts in the league. Which will help them in a stacked Western Conference come playoff time.
