Nas Curates Playlist of His Favorite Jay-Z Songs
Ahead of Jay-Z’s upcoming concerts, Nas curated a playlist of his favorite Hov tracks. The playlist has a healthy balance of Jay-Z’s catalog. It features some of his most well-known songs, such as 99 Problems and Streets is Watching. As well as some of his deeper cuts, like he and Big L’s 7-minute freestyle.

Jay-Z and Nas had one of the most highly publicized beefs in the history of hip-hop. Even though HOV dropped a scathing diss track, Takeover, Nas’s Ether is widely regarded as the greatest diss track ever.
However, former Roc-A-Fella artist Memphis Bleek has a different perspective on Jay and Nas’s feud. He believes that although some believe that Jay-Z lost the battle with Nas, Roc-A-Fella ultimately won the war.
“I’m never going to agree with the fans. They try to say Ether was the best diss record in the Jay-Z and Nas battle. We can’t argue with the fans,” he said. “But you know what we’re going to do. We’re going to make a classic album. … That’s how you win a war. You can lose a battle, but you have to win the war.”
Even though Nas and Jay had one of the most bitter feuds in the history of rap, the relationship between the two rappers has finally changed. To a point where in their older years, they can step back and appreciate each other’s art.
