Jay-Z rarely has a bad week but it seems none of his recent announcements have been hitting.
Fans speculated JAY and Roc Nation could confirm a Superbowl performance, extended tour, or a coveted new album.
Instead, Roc Nation set up a pop up shop in anticipation of his London show. However, then, they debuted an exclusive listening party earlier this week.
But, fans quickly grew restless as they learned through the session that it was just old hits and no new material.
The ThirdVersPodcast streamed their reaction and clowned the affair.
“It’s not good for them to do this, the host said. “Cause he knows we expect [new music]. This is misleading the public. He knows we as consumers expected to get a new song or something. That’s b****. Nah, that s*** wack, I’m a JAY-Z fan but that s*** wack.”
Other fans expressed their disappointment.
“Big Hov fan, but yea that was probably not the best thing. I didnt listen or join coz it never said it was for new music so I figured it was just old stuff,” one user posted.
“As a Jay-Z fan, I think this is super lame and seems like a corporate greed move. We’ve bought your albums, we’ve streamed your albums, but now you want us to download an app so you can sell our info (because you haven’t gotten enough of our money) to listen to the same music?,” another user posted.
“Just proves how stupid his fans are folks about to download apps and pay for TIDAL and then he’ll include all those sales PLUS bundles into his numbers to trick their stupid asses a 3rd time with manufactured sells/streams numbers they can hse to glaze him,” another user posted.
