JR Smith, the once lovable NBA meme player and two-time NBA champion, was arrested last Monday during a traffic stop. Smith was booked after allegedly causing bodily harm to a family member.

Despite the charges, the way he got booked is unexpected.
According to TMZ, Smith was arrested “after an automatic license plate reader flagged the vehicle he was driving and alerted officers to an active warrant.”
Police turned the vehicle over to his brother.
Despite happening a week ago, there are no additional details at this time.
There’s also no reports on when he received this warrant, the circumstances around this warrant, or why the alleged assault occurred.
Smith spent 16 years in the NBA, playing for the New Orleans Hornets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and most notably, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He won 6th man of the year in 2013 while on the New York Knicks.
