Today we morn the death of Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Prodigy may have some of the most memorable beginning lines in Hip-Hop. For anyone that knows their 90’s Hip-Hop they know that Prodigy was one of the elite emcees in Hip-Hop before he even dropped his first solo album.
Prodigy’s battle with sickle cell has been highly documented throughout his career which made the last days of his life even more interesting. In October of 2016 Prodigy released a cookbook called “Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook” with the sole purpose of providing healthy recipes that he learned in prison.
By Prodigy having sickle cell his diet is very important and when he was locked up in prison his resources for meals wasn’t plentiful. Here Prodigy shares his experiences with prison, his diet, and other inmates while showing us how to cook BBQ Salmon in prison.
