Chance The Rapper is quickly becoming Hip-Hop’s top humanitarian. Through consistent involvement with Chicago Public Schools and their educators and students alike no one in Hip-Hop is giving back time and money to the level of Hip-Hop star Chance The Rapper. Recently showing up at SocialWorks Summit Chance announces that he is launching a new inaugural awards show called the Twilight Awards, which will honor educators who are helping raise up the youth in our nation. The awards show will celebrate “teachers, parents, principals and students that convey leadership” and is set to take place in June 2018. James Corden has been recruited to be the awards ceremony’s host, along with guest performances, and it will take place in Chicago.
Chance has also pledged a $2.2 million donation to 20 Chicago public schools. Chance took the stage at SocialWork Summit stating “Every contribution brings this city and this nation closer to providing a well-rounded quality education for each and every child. Funding quality education for public school students is the most important investment a community can make.”
