Drake Hits Back at Old Foe on New Album
On the new track entitled “Gimme a Hug,” off of his new “$exy $ongs 4 U” album the Six God appears to take shots at Joe Budden while praising former video model Melyssa Ford.
“Melyssa Ford, you a legend from the 6ix, hate to see you with a d**k-sucker,” he raps on the track.
Ford is one of the co-hosts of the Joe Budden podcast.
After the track was released she said that being mentioned in the song in which Drake referenced her as a Toronto legend was “awesome.”
“I’m still processing,” she said. “I’m just still processing. […] I mean, it’s great. It’s awesome. I mean, it’s not the first time, though. It’s not even the second, it’s not even the third. But thank you. I don’t know what he is trying to do, I am not in that man’s mind, I do not know. I will let you guys opine on that.” Furthermore, the other cohosts joked about how this was a decent strategy to “divide and conquer” by putting Ford on her deserved pedestal. “I was happy [with] that,” Joe Budden answered. “I was happy.”
Budden Responds to Drizzy
Drizzy appears to have his new target acquired in Budden. Earlier this week on his burner Instagram account, PlotttTwistttt, he posted a picture that took aim at the “Pump it up” artist. However, the rapper-turned-podcaster insists he is not falling into Drake’s trap. He knows that this is just his latest ploy to revive himself in the aftermath of his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
“Drake, don’t shoot at me now that you’re ice cold. I’m not doing a back-and-forth with a corpse. I wanted to do it when you was lit. It was fun,” Budden said.
“Don’t go get shot all through the year and then pop up like Bernie at Weekend At Bernie’s wanting to shoot at me now. No, n—-. Go spin. Spin the f—ing block. … Are you crazy?” he said, adding, “I just seen that s—. 99 n—-s done jumped on your a–. You’re out smoking hookah in turquoise boots. Don’t post me. Go get your f—ing lick back.”
